summer 2014 - the fun is just beginning
This summer, Troop 1 Sherborn plans to offer a high-adventure trip to the Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR) in
West Virginia. This is a brand new BSA high adventure base and is markedly different experience from other bases such as Philmont.
The camp runs from Sunday noon to early Saturday morning, 6 nights. Camp cost is estimated to be roughly $1000 including all meals and transportation. Scouts stay in 4-man tents with bunks and eat in a dining hall. Troop 1 is interested in participating in the "Summit Experience," a sampler of all SBR has to offer. Click here for fact sheet, or watch a video here. The minimum participation age is 13, and all participating scouts must be of First Class rank.
Interested scouts should contact Mike Donovan at mpjdonovan@earthlink.net and include their scout's interest level, and whether the month of July or August would be best.
